Branches and Banks event

Get ready, Cochrane —Branches & Banks is back for 2022!
We will be gathering on Saturday, May 14 for the 24th year of this community event. Organized by CEAC in partnership with the Town of Cochrane, Branches & Banks is a great outing for all ages.
Join us at the riparian area surrounding the confluence of the Bighill Creek and the Bow River. You can help with our planning by registering all participants (adults and youth) in advance, free of charge at the link below.
Approximately 400+ trees will be planted. There will also be some cleanup and remediation work along the creek. Be sure to dress for the weather as the event goes ahead rain or shine. Bring gloves and spades for planting. Don’t forget to bring your water bottle.
Outreach Program: In conjunction with tree plant activities, volunteers will be given an opportunity to chat with local environmental educators. The Outreach Program will be provided by Howl, a non-profit educational initiative that provides an experiential learning pathway for youth. Three of their team, Vicki Perkins, Ozzy Lang and Jander Talen, will be offering education about the importance of watersheds and having a deep look into the aquatic life that make up the local ecosystem and the web that connects them all. Volunteers are encouraged to take advantage of this educational opportunity.
On site Volunteer Check-In: starts at 9:00 am—look for the white canopy near the picnic tables at the east end of the Riverfront Park trail.
