Living Sustainably Series – Mastering Difficult Conversations | November 7, 2026

Not all conversations are easy to have! Join us for a morning where you’ll have the opportunity to learn the best way to deeply listen to each other and have effective conversations on difficult topics. Polarizing topics can make conversations difficult, even confrontational sometimes. Although the facts are important, research shows us that stories and conversations are much more effective.
In this workshop, Jennifer Janzen will demonstrate and practice the best way to have effective conversations on difficult topics, including the environment and climate change. We will practice deep listening and how to diffuse situations.
Jennifer Janzen is the Executive Director of Alberta Tomorrow, a registered charity that delivers a platform that empowers youth to design and sustain a future for our shared ecosystem. Alberta Tomorrow has been recognized by the Alberta Emerald Foundation for its impact on sustainability education, emphasizing its role in fostering awareness and the understanding of responsible land use and environmental stewardship.
Saturday, November 7 | 9:30 am – 11:30 am | Frank Wills Memorial Hall, 405-1 St E, Cochrane AB.
